About Us

A New Beginning

SNAPGH | System And Network Administrators of Pittsburgh is brand new. We’ve had a couple discussions on what we want to be and do. Since we are so new, everyone has and will have a large impact on the goals and direction of the group. We are just a group of local Sysadmins.

Goals & Objectives

  • Be a local community of system and network administrators
  • Provide support to Western Pennsylvania system and network administrators
  • Be involved in Western Pennsylvania’s technology sector
  • Provide a organization for the recognition and advancement of system and network administration in Western Pennsylvania
  • Reach out to local organizations to promote and educate
  • Organize local events and activities

Membership

Membership in LOPSA is encouraged; it is not required to attend meetings. All you have to do is show up. We do require you to attend a meeting before you are approved to join our LinkedIn group.

Don’t let the PGH dissuade you.

While Pittsburgh is in the group name, we hope to be a meeting point for all technology administrators and Sysadmins in Western Pennsylvania. We currently have members from Allegheny, Butler, and Washington County.

Are you only linux admins?

Nope. We are Sysadmins. Those systems can be anything technology related. We have members who are Windows administrators, Exchange administrators, Network administrators, and other varied job titles. We are inclusive, meaning everyone is welcome.
